Iran's major mines are: oil and gas. Iran, the world's second largest oil reserves, possess eleven percent of oil reserves of the world equivalent to 130 billion barrels, and the world's second largest gas reserves, eighteen percent of gas reserves of the world equivalent to 26 trillion cubic meter.
Other important mines of the country are coal mines and metal minerals: gold, manganese, chromite, copper, lead, zinc, nickel, cobalt, silver and chemical minerals: sulfur, salt, decorative stones, sand and gravel. Therefore, focusing on energy is one of the pillars of investment and coordinate with country's vision statement that because of government's support for oil projects has a particular importance.
